Here's a larger photo of my avatar, and the original fabric I used to make it. I followed the tutorial found on the board here: http://www.quiltingboard.com/tutoria...ns-t92503.html
I still haven't finished it. LOL! It's still a UFO. :o |
Your top is a beauty to behold - - I love the way these quilts work. I have yet to try one, and you're definitely inspiring me!
very nice......

I saw your avatar a while back and that really gave me the inspiration to make a monochromatic one (I've done 2 so far but they both had several colors to them). Blue is my favorite color so I've been looking for the perfect fabric. I really like several Timeless Treasures Asian prints but they have had a black background and I want it to be all blues.
Thanks for posting the original fabric as it is always helpful to see it and then see how it translates into the blocks. I also like how you scattered the blocks and did not cluster the lights together and the darks together as many of these are done. Great job. |
Verry pretty

Glorious!! I had thought Hawaiian fabrics would lend themselves to a OBW. Yours has a touch of Hawaiian feel to it. I love being able to see the original fabric. I made a pillow sham out of my original fabric for one of mine.
I love your OBW! Very well done. It's always amazing how the fabric turns out into those beautiful blocks.
Aw, thanks, y'all! :)
I was undecided for the longest time about how to arrange the blocks. Usually OBW blocks are laid out by color (lights to darks), but I finally decided to mix them up. It reminds me of raindrops hitting the water, making random ripples. :) |
Beautiful quilt. Funny, when I first saw the quilt I thought snow or ice crystals. Then saw the original fabric and it is a tropical scene.
Love that fabric. The colors are beautiful.
Love OBWs and yours is fantastic!! Great material!!
Lovely OBW! It reminds me of ice crystals.
it's gorgeous
Love what you've accomplished with that material!
Oh it's pretty!! Finish it!!! It looks close to being done. :D

Love anything with stack n whack techniques. Pretty blue.
Your OBW is outstanding! I have admired this type of quilt for a long time. I thank you also for showing us what the fabric looked like before you started cutting.

Awesome! Nice work!
Very pretty. On my bucket list.
This pattern is so intriguing. I would have never looked at this fabric and visualized your stunning quilt. Haven't reached that level of expertise. But do appreciate you who are so accomplished!!!
Your quilt is beautiful. I have the book and gthe fabric to make a OBW -- just don't know when I will get around to it! Your quilt certainly gives me a nudge to get busy on mine!!
I love the effect of an OBW and yours in the shades of blue really pops out. I have just found some fabric that I could use this way, and seeing yours, inspires me to get busy on it. Thanks for posting, it is gorgeous.
That is sew very pretty.
I really like what you've done with that fabric. As Dunster said, it's not the typical OBW of light to dark, but this one worked really well the way you did it. Please finish it! It's going to be fantastic!
P.S. I have just a fat qtr of that fabric & just did a small wall hanging to hang in my studio. I just HAD to do it! It's befitting of my studio! |
That fabric is gorgeous & makes one awesome quilt.
if I saw that fabric in a shop i wouldnt have thought it would have made a beautiful OBW..but yours is beautiful.
I can't believe I missed seeing this quilt when you first posted. I try to check board twice a day.
Your OBW is probably my favorite I have ever seen. I love it. |
