Love your quilt so far.....it is the same pattern I've picked out to make 4 twin size quilts for myself and 3 sisters from our Dad's shirts.

Nice job incorporating his shirts into a quilt. I've used the shirt fabric to sash before also. Or in corner blocks also. You are making her a perfect memory quilt.
