My son will be 30 years old on the 16th. I actually have this finished in time. Unbelievable on my part !!! He saw the batiks and loved them but could not imagine them all together. Can't wait to see what he thinks. Since he wanted it to be big ( he loves to lay on the couch all curled up) and warm, I had it quilted with a leaf pattern that was rather large so it was cuddly and used washable wool batting. Should be all he hoped for. When I started this quilt he was a lonely bachelor. Now he has a beautiful, fantastic girlfriend. Hope she loves as much as he does. (I know he will be proposing soon)
Thanks so much for looking 80 x 98 One Block |
OOOOOO that's beautiful!!!!!!!! I bought a lot of batiks for my 3 sons- they make great guy quilts but also great for everyone! I'm sure she'll love it just as much :D
You did a wonderful job on it!! |
Wow, it is just beautiful. He (they) will love it.
Love the quilt for your son. I have 2 sons and 1 daughter turning 30 years old in January (yep, triplets). They are not as lucky as your son. No quilts for them ----yet. I'm having a hard time believing they are that old. Where did 30 years go????????

That's very nice! I love the colors you selected.

Very nice! I'm sure he (and his girlfriend) will love it.
Oh Wonderful quilt! I am sure he and she will treasure it.
That is just gorgeous!! Your son will love it, just hope the new girl does. I had made several quilted, country style things for my son when he was single, he really like them. Then he married a interior decorator and she threw it all out! I actually got them from the trash box !! His most treasured item, his grandma's music box( a very simple one, not a beautiful one) that was never seen again.
I realy like your lovely quilt!! Gorgeous colours and I do like the pattern!! Beautiful!
Beautiful quilt....what is the name of the pattern you used...looks like something my sons would like...maybe done up in Flanell

I love the soft colors you used on his quilt. I am sure he will love it.
I think this quilt might well be the prettiest batik quilt I have ever seen. I am not super crazy about batiks in a quilt. I see pretty batik fabrics but just don't want to put them in a quilt. But I sure do like yours and I am willing to bed your son and his GF will like it too.
What a beautiful quilt. Great ideas for the batting and quilting to make it soft and warm.
I'd love to have it, thats for sure! Lovely!

The pattern is called "Log Cabin Loco" by Marlous Designs. I made it a little bigger than the actual 61 x 76 of the original pattern. Hope you enjoy making it as much as I did. |
I love batiks and your quilt is lovely, I'm sure he will love it!! It's great that you finished it on time, good work!
Really nice. I have 3 adult grandsons and this gives me ideas! :-D Thanks.

Beautiful quilt!

My birthday is the 16th too. Sure wish I had someone that would make me a treasure like your son will be receiving. It is really beautiful. My son needs a dew quilt. What is the pattern name?
Gorgeous! He's going to love it!
I love batiks in all quilts, but your quilt brings them all together to a new level! This is so lovely and sophisticated but not too girly-girl for a young man. What a keepsake gift from a loving mother!
I have some of those fabrics in a kit I purchased. Worked on it for awhile - now I have inspired to get back at it. Nice job!!
