Still trying to post pics. This is the quilt in a day that turned out to be a quilt in over a year. I finally gave up and finished it with some empty baskets. I love to applique but this was so boring. I almost trashed it.

It is so pretty. I can see such a long project that you felt like quitting. I am glad you didn't. Next time, maybe a wallhanging first to see if you like doing it.

Rosewood9 01-26-2012 07:47 AM

Very nice!

kateyb 01-26-2012 07:50 AM

Your quilt turned out very pretty. I agree that the empty baskets add interest. I, too, am learning to applique. I have a small project going. If I don't want to be done in a hurry I can deal.

Rosewood9 01-26-2012 07:54 AM

I think it's beautiful!

Grandma Bonnie 01-26-2012 07:56 AM

I also think it's beautiful! And certainly not boring to look at. Glad you finished it.

Joan 01-26-2012 07:56 AM

You may have gotten tired of it but the eventual results are beautiful and you deserve a big pat on the back for completing it. Put it away for a few months and then get it out---I will look better to you, I guarantee it!

fmhall2 01-26-2012 07:59 AM

This turned out so pretty. I really do like it. And there is nothing wrong with the empty baskets I don't think.

Sewfine 01-26-2012 08:05 AM

That is a beautiful quilt. Glad you finished it.

LETIA 01-26-2012 08:23 AM

That is a beautiful quilt.

I had the same problem...took a class for the quilt but only made nine baskets. Ended up making a wall hanging for a gift, couldn't get it out of my hands fast enough!

nativetexan 01-26-2012 08:48 AM

Your quilt top is beautiful and I think worth all the time you put into it! I also like some of the baskets empty. Just think, you can add more flowers anytime you feel like it.

I think your quilt is beautiful. In fact, I have one almost identical to it I did a few years ago. Love it!! Eleanor Burns and her sister Pat Knoechel are great quilters and I enjoy seeing Pat as a speaker each year when she visits our guild. I hand quilted this one and thought it needed something more, so went back and added the half-inch grid to the background. Took me awhile, but it one of my favorites. Thanks for sharing and I hope you learn to love yours too. Blessings, RobertaMarie
