Spanish Dancer
2 Attachment(s)
I started this little (33 x 35) quilt at a church quilt retreat a couple of weeks ago. I didn't want to take one of the big quilts I've been working on so I started the Spanish Dancer that I had been thinking about for several months. She still needs a little more quilting in a few small areas but otherwise she is all finished. I hand dyed the background fabric because I couldn't find anything in my stash that would work with her.

Oh, Dilyn, you have made a gorgeous Quilt. And your hand dying is perfect. I just love it. Congratulations.
Truly stunning!
How beautiful and the artistry is an undertaking that shows your skills wonderfully!
How beautiful she is. Well done.
She’s lovely!
Beautiful work. You have patience to do all those little pieces
Breathtakingly beautiful! So very talented, wow!
She turned out beautifully.
Love it!!!
Wow! That’s incredible!
Love all the shadows. Very rich.
That is definitely a "wow" piece!
I am so impressed with the collage work I see on this board and this is no exception. Seems even more difficult without busy fabrics. I hope to find a class near me sometime soon.
Impressive. Did you come up with the pattern and draw it out yourself?
That's fantastic! She is gorgeous.
Absolutely stunning! We used to live in Santa Fe and went to many traditional dance events and I can tell you that your interpretation of traditional costume is perfect. She looks like she could just jump off the picture and finish her dance on your hard wood floor.
Your work is incredible. I’ve been on this board for many years and have enjoyed everything you share. You just get better and better ;-)
Wow! Just... wow!
Ole! You hit this one out of the park. Such a beautiful quilt with wonderful movement.
She is beautiful!!
This piece is lovely!! I am happy to see you put a sleeve at the bottom to keep “her” hanging straight.
Just stunning. Thanks for posting your "in progress" picture as it really told the story of how impeccable your cutting, piecing and quilting had to be. How did you quilt the dress.........raw edge applique with a straight stitch 1/16" from the edge or something else? Whatever, you did a marvelous job.
She’s gorgeous!
Stunning. Absolutely stunning.
What an incredible quilt! The dancer is gorgeous! Great job on creating her dress!

Wow - that is just stunning!
Will you enter it in a quilt show? I'm sure it would be appreciated by many. |
That is amazing.
Stunning Spanish Dancer.
Stunning work of art! I enjoyed seeing your work in progress. I had no idea how tiny the pieces of fabric were to get all the details. I like the background colors you chose to make the dancer pop!
Absolute gorgeous.
I can almost see her next move!
