I get tired of the little strings getting a ride with me all over the house so I made this apron to cover my front while sewing. Now I need sewing booties and I will be all set .... LOL!
This was also an exercise for me to learn to hand sew all that bias binding without showing a stitch on the front side. Whew ... That was a lot of binding! I think it came out great ... How about you? The front with miles of self fabric binding This is made with the seams covered with binding in the front... |

Absolutely adorable...and I love your sense of color!

It's really nice. You did a lovely job and I love the fabrics. And I know what you mean about little threads. What a good solution.
Cute, cute, great idea by the way

I saw them (all the little bits) referred to as quilter's jewellery!
What a beautiful apron!! You did an amazing job!!

It's too cute! You did a wonderful job. Will the booties match?
Darling apron, but the threads are how other quilters recognize me in public :)
Cute apron!
Beautiful! Did you have a pattern or make it up yourself?
Pretty! And what a great idea!
Why is it I always seem to be wearing black when I sew? |

This apron is absolutely adorable.
Can you tell us where you got the pattern? |
Yes.. I love aprons.. do tell where you got the pattern.
That is so cute. And what a great idea. I hate it when I go out after sewing and notice little threads all over me. Sigh. But I don't hate it enough to stop sewing.
The fabrics you picked are great and I love vintage-style aprons. I want one!
Thanks Everyone! The pattern is McCall's #3979. I buy lots of patterns when they go on sale at Hancocks fabrics. (They go for a buck during thier sales.) The fabric came from there too although I can't for the life of me remember the name of the fabric line.
I sew lots of clothing too. Mostly for my niece, but I have a lined purple no whale corderoy skirt in the works and a robins egg blue gaberdine pair of slacks. |
that is sooooooooooooo cute. i really love it
Darling apron, I however, would use it in the kitchen. The surest way to keep treads off your clothing while sewing is to do it in the nude!! If we are anywhere near the same age, be VERY careful around that hot iron!
Yes, it absolutely came out great! I love the fabrics.
Lovely
So cute, love the style and colors
This is SO cute! But what a lot of work! Worth every stitch tho.

Too cute! The fabrics are really fun. Where did you get the pattern?
That is a wonderful apron! Will have to look for that McCall's pattern when I go to Hancock's. Thanks for a great tip!
