Spent today just playing around

I have been saving up orphan and extra blocks I have had left from other projects (I hate to throw anything away.) Today I took them and played around and put as many of them together as I could - I am going to use it as a backing for my next quilt. It was really fun seeing what I could come up with.

Bright, pretty and really interesting!

lynnie 12-30-2014 06:52 PM

As a backing, are you nuts ontheriver?:D This is fabulous and would be so cheerful hanging on the right wall. I have the right wall for it!!
peace

It's beautiful, bright and fun! Why hide it on the back? Make it the front and show it off. You have a really great quilt here.

Tartan 12-30-2014 07:50 PM

Really pretty! My orphan's live in a box because they do not play well with others.:D

Diane007 12-30-2014 07:53 PM

very nice and great that you could use them

FabStripper 12-30-2014 07:59 PM

This is a cheery quilt. I think it should be the front of a quilt. I really like the colors.

zozee 12-30-2014 08:00 PM

I agree with the others--this one's so cheery, bright, fun, pretty that it should be the front, not the back, of a quilt!

FabStripper 12-30-2014 08:01 PM

I forgot to ask where you got your sunbonet for the center square?

RainyBC 12-30-2014 08:17 PM

I agree with the others who say your blocks are way too pretty to use as a backing. If it were mine, I'd either hang it if I had the space or use it for a quilt top. You have some wonderful quilt blocks!

Shelbie 12-30-2014 08:41 PM

This should be a front and not be just a back. I especially like that purple butterfly.

I love quilts that are a mix if designs and yours is so bright and colourful. Please use it for the front of a quilt. Thank you for sharing your art..

Beautiful on any side you put it. BrendaK

DOTTYMO 12-30-2014 11:57 PM

Backing!! It would make some lucky girl a wonderful quilt.First top ready for next Christmas.

beaqltr 12-31-2014 03:18 AM

Too pretty for a backing. It is bright and scrappy and should be seen as a top.

Quiltngolfer 12-31-2014 03:29 AM

Beautiful! Put a plain backing on that and quilt it. What are you thinking? That's way too pretty to be the back of something. I think it turned out great!

jetayre 12-31-2014 04:05 AM

That is so different and appealing .....It deserves to be on the front in all its glory!!!!!!

DianneK 12-31-2014 04:05 AM

Yes, are you nuts...what a beautiful quilt TOP

TeriD 12-31-2014 04:11 AM

Love it--especially all the bright colors!

QuiltnNan 12-31-2014 04:23 AM

turned out great!

patsynel 12-31-2014 05:45 AM

This is too creative to use as a back. Love the colors.

psychonurse 12-31-2014 06:11 AM

its beautiful for a quilt top.

lfletcher 12-31-2014 06:40 AM

I love it as a quilt in its own right. Don't hide it on the back. Very cheerful.

Jackie Spencer 12-31-2014 06:45 AM

Cute Sampler Quilt!! I love the Sunbonnet Block!

Jordan 12-31-2014 07:42 AM

You have done a great job with creating a beautiful, bright quilt. Definitely need to use this for the front.

tessagin 12-31-2014 07:44 AM

I think it makes a good top like a sampler. All cheery and bright. Would be a cute quilt for a little girl or baby girl. Absolutely adorable!

feline fanatic 12-31-2014 07:51 AM

Another vote for the front of a quilt. This is a wonderful scrap quilt.

KarenK 12-31-2014 08:11 AM

Lovely! So bright and cheerful. You did a wonderful job putting your blocks together.

Bobbielinks 12-31-2014 08:22 AM

Your orphan blocks play very well together! A beautiful quilt! Very well done!

quiltingeileen 12-31-2014 08:39 AM

Love it! So fun and sunbonnet Sue is one of my favorites!

Tweety2911 12-31-2014 09:00 AM

Beautiful layout. Love all the blocks!

Pollytink 12-31-2014 02:24 PM

I join the chorus....DON'T put it on the back....make it the front of a quilt! It's so beautiful, even better than a sampler quilt and so interesting to look at! How big is it? Would make a great wall hanging too!!

KARENBOUTQUILTIN 12-31-2014 02:30 PM

I would love to have this layout done as a quilt. Why put it on the back?

Exactly I was admiring this so much knowing that I can maybe get 2or3of my orphans to play together. I would never be able to get a back or even new quilt out of them. They are ornary that way This is truly wonderful work Ontheriver.

sandyfullmer 12-31-2014 06:44 PM

I think it would make a nice quilt top! Looks very cohesive- like it was planned from the get go.

heather1949 12-31-2014 07:48 PM

I would be using it as a front not Backing, its to beautiful for that. :)

Taughtby Grandma 01-01-2015 03:31 AM
