Great, I like how it gives the quilt movement.

I love how it turned out too. The spiral quilting on the squares really sets it off.

Hi Bonnie - I did use a walking foot and the edge of that foot as the guide for each row. It went VERY slow at the beginning and then a bit fast as the circle got bigger. Here is a link to the tutorial I adapted a bit:

Hi Sue,
I cut out a paper circle (drew around a glass the right size), pinned that on the quilt and very slowly went around it and then moved it up 1/2" and gradually kept sewing to that line. I then used the edge of my walking foot as the width for each row. I went through 4 bobbins! Roseanne |
Wow I would get dizzy sewing that. Nice job!

Love the quilt and your quilting is super. BrendaK

Nice spiral quilting.

Thank you again for all the kind words and praise! I'm looking at my next quilting project - I'm going to try chalk marking a template on the borders and straight stitching in the middle (I think). ~smile~

Was this accomplished on your designated sewing machine or a long arm?

Love the colors and quilting on this. Beautiful!

Great, great job!!!

Love your quilt. The spiral quilting is such a perfect contrast to the piecing in the quilt. Color choices are so happy looking.

I used just my regular $200 Brother sewing machine. It really was just a matter of going really slowly - like two stitches, stop and adjust, two stitches, adjust - especially in the very middle. Toward the edges I was able to go much, much faster. I would say the whole thing took about 4 hours to quilt, maybe 5 at the most. I hope you try it! ~smile~ Roseanne |
Looks great! I love the spiral quilting - it brings the whole quilt up a notch.

I like this quilt very much!!

Interesting. I've never seen a spiral quilt job like this before. Pretty cool.
