Spiral quilt just finished!

I am a recent machine quilter convert, and just finished my first spiral baby quilt. I love how it turned out ~smile~

I love it. You did such a good job of keeping it all so even too! I have trouble keeping it even.

I love the look of the circles and all the colors in your quilt! Can I ask how you made the circles? Special tool or foot?

Fabulous! I have seen the spiral quilted on a lot of different types of quilts and it seems to work well with all of them.

Hi Sue,
I cut out a paper circle (drew around a glass the right size), pinned that on the quilt and very slowly went around it and then moved it up 1/2" and gradually kept sewing to that line. I then used the edge of my walking foot as the width for each row. I went through 4 bobbins!

Hi Bonnie - I did use a walking foot and the edge of that foot as the guide for each row. It went VERY slow at the beginning and then a bit fast as the circle got bigger. Here is a link to the tutorial I adapted a bit:
