I love it. You did such a good job of keeping it all so even too! I have trouble keeping it even.

Lovely quilting. I like it too.

SuziSew 05-11-2017 08:31 AM

I love the look of the circles and all the colors in your quilt! Can I ask how you made the circles? Special tool or foot?

redstilettos 05-11-2017 08:41 AM

Oh I can see why you are so pleased. I would be, too!

May I ask where in Wisconsin you are? Maybe we're close!

Hi Red Stilettos! I am in Sturtevant, which is just north of Kenosha, west of Racine and south of Milwaukee. ~smile~

Fabulous! I have seen the spiral quilted on a lot of different types of quilts and it seems to work well with all of them.

rl2b-Roseanne 05-11-2017 10:34 AM

Hi Sue,
I cut out a paper circle (drew around a glass the right size), pinned that on the quilt and very slowly went around it and then moved it up 1/2" and gradually kept sewing to that line. I then used the edge of my walking foot as the width for each row. I went through 4 bobbins!

Hi Bonnie - I did use a walking foot and the edge of that foot as the guide for each row. It went VERY slow at the beginning and then a bit fast as the circle got bigger. Here is a link to the tutorial I adapted a bit:

I am working my way toward feeling for confident enough to try FMQ. ~smile~
