Spiral table runner

3 Attachment(s)
I just finished this spiral table runner...my first one. I think this is a great pattern and very easy to do. I think it is the first project I ever did and didn't use one pin in it. This is for my son's new house. I wanted it for his coffee table but it is pretty big. Probably will have to put it on his dining room table. Next time will leave out about 6 of the sections in the middle for a smaller table. These are the colors of his furniture, gold leather couch. and black recliner. he has blue lighthouse things all around also.

Very pretty little runner! Love the light blue in it, a soft restful runner!!!!

Absolutely beautiful runner! Love the colors and how they go together and contrast. Beautiful workmanship too! For those who asked, the pattern is called Spicy Spiral Table Runner. It is from School House Quilts and is a copyrighted pattern so you would need to buy it from a "reliable" source. I bought it a number of months ago and I don't know for sure but I think it might have been a copied pattern so I emailed the original pattern maker to talk to her about it. In the future I will be much more careful about where I buy patterns. The pattern maker should be making her fair share from the sales, not someone who is illegally copying them. I think if we were all selling our own patterns, we would feel the same way. Off the soap box now. So, anyway, I just ordered the ruler (you need a 9 or 10 degree long wedge ruler) and although it is fairly expensive as rulers go, you really need it to make this runner and I can see making this many times in the future for my own use and for gifts so it's probably well worth that cost. Hope so as these runners are stunning. Oh and the ruler can also be used for making circles such as tree skirts and such. (Sorry for the long-winded reply.)

Isn't this a fun runner to make. Love yours.

Gail B 03-05-2012 03:56 PM

The pattern is Spicy Spiral http://phillipsfiberart.danemcoweb.c...p/product/STP/ You also need the 10 degree wedge ruler which you can purchase on the same site. It is such an easy pattern. You will love it.

Lisa Marie 03-05-2012 05:26 PM

That's beauitful!

spa 03-05-2012 07:10 PM

You do great work. Where can I find the pattern?

EmbQuilt 03-05-2012 07:27 PM

Dee it is beautiful! Did you take the class at Calico Gals?

BLAP 03-05-2012 07:59 PM

Absolutely beautiful.

Podunk Princess 03-05-2012 08:41 PM

Beautiful table runner. Love the fabric choice.

Sibi 03-05-2012 08:54 PM

So unique! I love it!

irishrose 03-05-2012 09:11 PM

That one turned out wonderfully. To make a smaller one, you'd need a ruler less than the 9 or 10 degree the pattern uses. If you leave out some center sections, you'll have a big drop off in the step pattern.

Janquiltz 03-05-2012 09:22 PM

Oh boy - another project for my ever-growing list. Love the colors in your runner and the piecing is perfection!

LauraRG 03-06-2012 03:54 AM

What a beauty! I love the black print and the floral and how the patterns play off each other!
