Spring Splash for my MIL
1 Attachment(s)
I started this quilt several years ago and finally finished it last month to take to Ohio to give to my MIL who was turning 90. No it wasn't difficult to make but it got misplaced a few times with moves. I also started it b4 I discovered Warm and Natural and wasn't happy with the loft creating wrinkles. I originally wanted to quilt hearts in the spaces around the Ohio star but a friend suggested I do the echo quilting. I think hearts would have been better but my MIL still loved it and I did include some decorative stitched hearts on her label (that had been put on 3 yrs ago ! :p )

Beautiful quilt. Glad you got it finished for your MIL to enjoy - I bet she is very pleased. It is far too pretty to be hiding away as a UFO! Great job.
|
What a wonderful birthday gift. I can see why your MIL loved it. I think it would have looked just as beautiful with hearts. Sometimes we just have to take our own path despite what others say.

Thanks for the kind replies.
I have some more pix to load of mug rugs I made for Mom and 2 special place mats that my SIL asked me to make for Mom's 90th b'day bash, to place at her table with centerpieces on them. I also made a batch of mug rugs to give to family and friends while we were in Ohio ... I'll post those too. Its nice to finally get some things accomplished. |

Beautiful quilt. Love the blue fabric, and the pattern. I used to live in Palmdale (85-92), and Lancaster (51-59), and California City (80-85).
