I would use them both!! I love the formal look of your LeMoyne star but using the asian floral border fabric (YUMMY!!) in the center of your sawtooth star will tie everything together so nicely. I am assuming your final layout will be a modified Irish chain. In places where four stars come together, put your LeMoyne stars where you only have one or two stars (the outside peremeters) put the sawtooth but I would limit my star points to that teal color so it all ties together nicely. You have picked some gorgeous fabrics for this project.

What effect were you going for? The first bock is very contemporary look, good for male or female. The second block has a very feminine vibe to it. Personally, my favorite is Block 1, but the second block is pretty too.

I like #1 as it is more of a Star, maybe boring, but it is beautiful!

I agree with feline fanatic, using a combination of the two. Something else to consider is the fomal/casual appearance of the completed top. somwone else mentioned the color choice of the LeMoine star, maybe use some of the border fabric in some of them or another color such as the light purple you used in one of the sawtooth stars.

I too, like them both. The 1st one seems more like your contemporary star where the 2nd one gives it a little touch of something different. They are both very pretty.
