Starry Night
1 Attachment(s)
I just finished this One Block Wonder for my cousin who just retired from the NYC transit authority. He is coming to visit on Sunday. At first I didn't care for how the hexagons came together. I think I prefer lighter, brighter colors. My daughter helped pick out the border fabrics and as I worked on it, I began to appreciate it more. I also convinced myself that it was a nice masculine quilt. My daughter said it reminded her of Starry Night, so that is what I named it.

I want to tell you that you should get rid of it and I'll offer to take it off your hands.... but I don't think that will work.... It is one beautiful quilt!! Or should I say, "One more beautiful quilt"?

Wow, I love it and so will he!

This technique came from the Maxine Rosenthal book One Block Wonders. I have made 7 quilts using this book as my reference. Besides the hexagons, there is an octagon too.

Thank you all for your wonderful comments. I forgot to take a picture of the fabric and wish I had. I think the asian fabrics always lend themselves to fun OBW quilts. I thought about it, I ended 2012 with one in November and began 2013 with one this month. Have a great day.
|
My favorite pattern and it is lovely.
