Thank you! If you look at the first page, I refer to another post where I show the two blocks used. I didn't have a pattern, but I use EQ6 to help design my quilts. The two blocks are identical except for the orientation of some of the patches.

That's fabulous dunster, I love it! Have to give that quilting in sections a go next time i go a big one. How big are the little square patches BTW?

Thank you. They are 8" blocks, so the little squares are 1" finished. I think the pattern would look really nice if the block size were increased to 12", making the small squares 1.5". I hope you enjoy quilting in sections too.

motomom 09-01-2009 09:55 AM

I love these colors!

pennyswings 09-01-2009 11:06 AM

Big and beautiful! I am sure they will love it.

Izy 09-01-2009 11:10 AM

Lovely job Dunster, I love the pattern :D

Mamagus 09-01-2009 11:35 AM

Beautiful! It has a timeless quality to it. I really stay away from strong one colour family quilt designs. I think they become dated very quickly. Nice work!!!

CindyBee 09-02-2009 02:58 PM

Absolutely FABULOUS! I love scrappy and this one is fantastic! I am also so intrigued by your method of quilting a large quilt in sections. I'll certainly be checking into that method.

wolverine 09-03-2009 06:23 AM

I love this quilt. Where did you get the pattern?

wisconsin 09-03-2009 06:56 AM

That is wonderful ! Any chance I can get some more details from you on the pattern ? What size are the larger squares ? And did you do them as half square triangles ? Thanks for helping and sharing !
Sharon

WOW!! Looks like a glass kalidescope. Beautiful colors placed perfectly, moves the eye throughout the quilt.

Several people have asked about the pattern, so let me explain - I did not have a pattern as such.

There are two alternating 8" blocks, identical except for the orientation of some of the patches. The small squares are 1" finished. I showed big pictures (from EQ6) of the two blocks in this post: http://www.quiltingboard.com/posts/list/15/23920.page

I think if you look at the blocks you will understand that the "larger squares" are formed by the interplay of the two 8" blocks. It's really interesting how two fairly simple blocks come together and form secondary designs.

Thank you, everyone, for the kind words. They're really appreciated.

I wonder what happened to that link. Anyway, here are the two blocks, and a picture of how they go together. The blocks are 8", but they could be made larger.
