This is one of my very first quilts. Didn't have a pattern, just copied from a picture in a magazine (don't even think it was a quilting magazine). If I remember correctly, this is all poly/cotton fabric and has a fat batting. In those days, I wanted a quilt to be "puffy" like a comforter. The quilt still lives on a sailboat, sailing around the world. I'm assuming the polyester makes it extremely warm.

Beautiful! I love it. I have a pattern set aside that showcases white stars I hope to get to someday!
Kudos to you for doing this w/o a pattern. I have a teenage friend I have taught to quilt and against my advice she is using hi-loft poly batting because she wants it puffy. Maybe puffy is making a comeback in her generation! :) |
