I started this last Sunday night, have two rows done but have to take a brake from it. All the PP is getting to my elbows.
Not perfect but very happy with it for the first try. The color is really Dk. purple not blue.

Beautiful and you are doing a great job. I started one 2 weeks ago in a retreat. I did 2 blocks and haven't had time to get back at it. Mine is gold and light gold batik. I love your colors. Keep up the good work and continue to post your progress, it will inspire me to get back at mine!

buddy'smom 04-24-2011 05:22 PM

Thanks so much everyone, hope to get it done within a few weeks.

I've always thought this was such a stunning pattern and there's so many color's to use. A dear friend of mine used red/white and I just loved it.
Thanks for all the kind words.
Would love to see a picture of your's as well.

Beautiful. It is such a sharp pattern. I would like the purple. It is my favorite color in a quilt

Beautiful, love the purple and the pattern.

clynns 04-24-2011 06:13 PM

Are you using foundation fabric or just the paper? Very good job. I have the foundation fabric I bought years ago, but haven't used yet. So many quilts, so little time. Please keep us posted with updates.

MamaBear61 04-24-2011 06:29 PM

I have this on my todo list

I love the hunters star pattern. I have never used PP to make one. I have made one from a pattern that was easy and have another pattern somewhere that I can't find. This is one pattern I will make two of, at least. Keep up the good work.

raksmum 04-24-2011 09:03 PM

It is going to be beautiful when finished.

allie1448 04-24-2011 09:23 PM

How beautiful...what size diamond paper piecing templates did you use? I want to do a quilt with some of the paper pieced blocks, and some embroidered blocks. The other thing that really caught my eye right away was, the choice of fabrics. I sewed my granddaughter a flilly, beautiful Christmas dress out of the same fabric choices. I can see we have good taste.

heather1949 04-25-2011 03:31 AM

Its beautiful...well done for the first try..

Thank you, I used the pp patterns from quilterscache. You make 8 of them to make a 12 1/2" block. I love this fabric, I just wish the purple had shower, funny they do have the same fabric in blue, red, and lighter blue.

nabobw 04-25-2011 04:10 AM
