What a great idea for putting your strips into, no getting in a mess or dropping any onto the floor. Love your quilt pattern, can't wait to see it done, your fabric is beautiful.

I posted this recently as an EQ design and thought I'd share my progress. I went with the first option of seahorses with fish as a secondary pattern and wanted to make it as a wall hanging rather than a full size quilt so decided on 6" blocks. It will be 48" x 36" without borders - I haven't decided on borders yet, will piece the middle first! Anyway, I just cut all my strips at 1 1/4" wide and 1" wide unfinished and laid them out in cutlery trays ready to go! I'm piecing the normal way rather than PP - good practice for those accurate scant 1/4" seams!

Beautiful. Too bad the pattern isn't available in books or magazine. Had never seen using silverware tray for keeping cut pieces neat and orderly
Copy her picture and arrange your log cabins the same way. Remember it's the uneven log cabin. |
Beautiful fabrics and I LOVE your organization. Can't wait to see the finished quilt.
