Stella -- my Elephant Abstraction (Violet Craft pattern)
5 Attachment(s)
I guess I never posted this quilt, which I did last year. It's a pattern from Violet Craft. I used my stash for the elephant's body, and got the orange Grunge for the background. It was fun doing the paper piecing, watching Stella come into shape on my design wall, as each section was completed.
I went a little crazy with the quilting, but had fun trying out some new-to-me designs and fills. Thanks so much for posting your quilt. It's beautiful. I'm still working on the quilting for mine. I'm almost done with the elephant and time to decide on the background.
|
You failed to mention that gorgeous this quilt is 54" X 60", which (IMHO) makes it even more amazing. What's there not to love about your Stella? Great fabric choices and very impressive quilting.

Wow, that's gorgeous! Great work!!
|
Fabulous job Cat! Definitely the best I have ever seen of these quilts. I think it would be great fun to quilt one of these up with lots of fancy threads and beads so it looks like the decorated elephants from Hindu celebrations.
