Man, this is a lot of work. I can hardly comprehend that someone does a really elaborate quilting job and says, "It took me 20 hours!" like that is too long.

I'm on the last row of blocks though! But that doesn't count since I have to go back and do the side arcs and the side borders. I am stitching down along the edge as I go so it's stabalized. Ordered a 20" Boomerang to do curved cross hatching and tracking says delivery on Saturday, yesterday. The only problem is that I had it sent to my work, which is closed.

I think I might name this "Leather and Lace." That is very appropriate for my daughter too. The pattern is called Faceted Jewels.

Well.... At least you have a nice quilting machine to do ALL of it on... Some of us really struggle with our domestic machines. The quilting looks great and the color combination is perfect for it's name.

funquilter 05-01-2011 08:36 AM

What a nice job!

sewbelle52 05-01-2011 08:37 AM

Stunning! I am enjoying the process of your creation. Thanks for sharing!

debcavan 05-01-2011 08:51 AM

It looks fabulous. There are a few quilts I will tell you it took over 30 hours on the longarm. But then I just like to quilt

nativetexan 05-01-2011 08:53 AM

oh that is turning out to be beautiful!!!

JEM65 05-01-2011 08:57 AM

Pam your quilt is awesome! Your work inspires me always. Beautiful!

GAgal 05-01-2011 09:13 AM

WOW! Your daughter is going to love it. Those colors are so cool and will be easy to decorate around.

pittsburgpam 05-01-2011 09:29 AM

It already matches her bedding. She has a cream colored spread with a delicate brown embroidery design around the edges and brown suede pillows. I will make up a throw pillow to go with this too.

moonwork42029 05-01-2011 09:43 AM

Wow, this is great.

Had to do a double take at the picture though...thought there was a real cat looking in the window when you took the picture. Cracked me up.

pittsburgpam 05-01-2011 09:45 AM

I love that picture! It's a poster that I got online and looks just like my black cat.

mexmmh43 05-01-2011 09:48 AM

That one is on my todo list love your colors its beautiful.

quiltnmom 05-01-2011 09:52 AM

As long as you are enjoying what you are doing it doesn't matter how long is takes you. You are doing a beautiful job. I don't think the quilt police are going to give you a ticket for going too slow or not quilting enough quilts. Haha!

jdiane318 05-01-2011 09:54 AM

Very pretty and the colors remind me of the different chocolates, mocha, light, semi-sweet, dark and white. Just very harmonizing and comforting.

franie 05-01-2011 09:57 AM

Lots of stops and go's, right? It is a beautiful quilt and your quilting beautiful too. The name is appropriate and I love the colors. Using a Tin Lizzie?

Harmony 05-01-2011 10:05 AM

This one's up to your usual incredible standards! Good things take time, and I know your daughter will understand all the time and love you put into this. It's gorgeous!

KathyAire 05-01-2011 10:07 AM

I have a Queen Quilter, basically a Tin Lizzie. I am using Connecting Threads' Essential Pro thread and I haven't had one single problem with it (knock on wood!) I've used Superior Threads, So Fine, Bottom Line, MasterPiece, King Tut, etc. and I have a lot of problems with the thinner threads, especially Bottom Line.

This is a simple machine so maybe simple thread works best with it.

That quilt pattern is beautiful! Care to share the name of it & where to find it? Not to mention how pretty the colors are and how well they work together.

Jingle 05-01-2011 05:12 PM

Very pretty.

coastienest 05-01-2011 05:19 PM

Just beautiful. Am I weird loving to pick out the fabric, sew it together and have no desire whatsoever to quilt it myself??? What kind of quilter am I? Your quilting is beautiful and you should be very proud of it !!!! Thanks for sharing

pittsburgpam 05-01-2011 05:23 PM

I understand very well liking making quilt tops but not quilting. I have many tops ready to quilt that I have put off doing for years. I'm just not very good at quilting and I don't want to ruin them. I much prefer piecing to quilting.
