These are #17 & #18 (of 32 listed for the year--March to March). Both are a mystery quilt from last year by the Gourmet Quilter. I like doing 2 different colorwaves on the same pattern...shows how different they look. Thanks for looking.

I agree--amazing what a difference the color waves make.

joyce888 08-07-2012 06:54 PM

Both are gorgeous, boy what a difference color choices make.

quiltingcandy 08-07-2012 06:57 PM

Beautiful! You have a great color sense.

17 and 18 UFO's? Wow, I'm impressed that you have the discipline to keep at it. To me UFO means "unlikely finish oh-oh." I can't seem to go back and actually work on them, so I've been giving them to a friend in our guild. I don't know what she does with them, but it doesn't matter, as long as I don't have the guilt, I'm happy! Congratulations on getting these done!!!

I love them, too! I, too, like to do color variations on patterns. I love what you did with this one! And congrats on making such a dent in your UFO's! I have a bunch you can work on next... LOL!

laurafet 08-08-2012 03:31 AM

Both are just stunning! I especially like the blue.

Frankie 08-08-2012 03:39 AM

Wow, they are both gorgeous and the color variation really does make for a different look for each. Not many of us would do the different colors for a pattern, I know I'd be glad that I got one done. Are you teaching, is that why you do the different colors?

#1piecemaker 08-08-2012 03:47 AM

oooooohhhhh! Nice. It just goes to show what different color schemes can do. Good job! Your quilts are beautiful.

No, I don't teach. I just like to see the differences when I do that. I do scrappy quilts that way too. Sometimes I do 2 of each quilt, sometimes just 1, & recently I did a BOM in 3 different batches of scraps. They are also on my list for the UFO's for the year...hopefully will get them finished in the next couple months.
