Your block looks good, and your points are going together nicely. I think the shading in the diamonds will add to the movement in the quilt. Please keep us posted on your progress. Who says you have to give it away? Storm at sea is definitely on my list. I can't decide between single or double blocks , color, plain or color in a pattern of some type..... How did you decide?
