I looked at lots of string quilts on the internet. Loved the look but needed to hand sew until I clean up the sewing room (gee, it was hard to put that in writing...) so they are hand sewn and hand quilted.

There are five colors in use but several prints. The centers are a cat print, other cat print, a zoo print, a dragon print.

I started photographing so I could see which I liked best but find I like them all.

I love them! They're really cute with a focus fabric and strips around it. Very clever. :)

So cute and hand sewn to boot. That binding is a perfect choice.

jewelps 02-03-2010 05:38 PM

do you put anything on the back of the bibs to keep the wetness of the baby?

bopeep 02-03-2010 05:38 PM

SOOOO CUTE...

I've not found a good way to add a plastic liner. I use 3/8" batting and flannel back and that works very well.

I love this!!! Did you have a pattern or did you just wing it? I think I may have to try some of these too.

MamaBear61 02-03-2010 06:08 PM

Those are really cute, and they are hand sewn, you are very talented indeed

Thank you.

I have a piece of cardboard in that bib shape and I use it as a guide to cut the batting and backing. After that it is "winging it". They are fun to do!

I cut all the strips on the bias in 1",1.5", 1.75", and 2" strips.
