The quilt shown here starts out with 40 in strips sewn together.
If I start with a 2 in. center square, the strip sets should be about six inches long by 3 inches wide. Cut that on the diagonal. Then you need to add a triangle to each corner. Adding the triangle saves a whole lot of fabric that would otherwise be cut off at each corner. I haven't made this yet, so this is still an idea that I think might work ! 15” block = 4 7/8 centre - 9 1/4 x 13 3/4 strips rectangle Hope this helps 😉 Good luck 😁 |
Beautiful fabrics and colours!

I used a center that was 3 1/2 inches square. Perfect. That showed me the formula: 8-4-2 or 12-6-3 Add seam allowances to each of these pieces and it comes out. But when you make it this way, the corners are not covered. I needed to add a small triangle to each corner. I found fabric that matched or almost matched other fabrics. Beautiful! |
Elfi2 thanks for those measurements. I didn't see them on the FB group .
This block is the most fun and I haven't even started one yet but I got my mom interested, lol! :) |
Great use of scraps!
