Stripping again

not what you think, lol. I was bored and my grand daughter said to take 1 yd each of 100 prints and cut strips-so I did.the 5 inch strips have now been cut into charms and many quilt tops are ready to start on including my favorite-log cabins.I prefer making scrappy quilts so this will work.

That's a lot of cutting, but nice that you are ready to start piecing whenever you feel like it!
Am I reading this right...........you stripped 100 yards of fabric? Man! you must have a stash if this is true. Out of curiosity .... how long did it take to accomplish this task? Have fun! Oh the possibilities now! Adios boredom.
wow. that must have been grueling. nice stripping

Oh. My. Goodness. You're a terrific stripper (seriously, I've never said THOSE words before!). Now you have a whole world of creativity just waiting to get started. Have fun, and I can't wait to see finished products.
let me know if you want to get rid of those so you have space to do it all again. LOL
i keep telling myself i should do that with a lot of my own stash. now that there's "hard evidence" a person can survive such an undertaking i have one less excuse to not do it. gee ... thanks. LOL seriously, though ... very impressive! |
That is a lot of stripping! Nice job :-) I have made several quilts using strips have you ever checked out Cozy quilts Strip club?
http://www.cozyquilt.com/Static/StripClub.aspx they have tons of patterns dedicated to strip piecing, and tutorials on you tube too. |
Great! Those stacks are full of motivation and inspiration! I'm surprised that some here would be shocked at 100 one yard cuts being part of a stash.
Wow!!!! This is amazing!!!!!!
I just can't keep from wondering how many rotary blades you went through. I know that's trivial, but I just wondered. It looks like a great stack to work with. I don't have many pieces I would call stash. Most of my fabric is in quilt kits where I have bought all the fabric to finish a quilt top.
I think I have strip(per) envy!?! hehe
wolph33 - you are my hero and an inspiration. I have a lot (probably at least 100 yards) of fabric that I have had for a while, couldn't really figure out why I bought it, probably was on sale, and really didn't know what to do with it. I'm going stripping!!!!
I am drawn to the strip quilts that have secondary patterns, and using your idea, getting the strips ready, will help get some fabric I am not fond of ready to make into quilts. Thank you for such a great idea! Just wondering.....how do you separate the colors to store them? |
wow, you were busy, a lot of cutting, can't wait to see what you're making with it
You have a great stash of fabrics. I can't wait to see what you make with them.
That's a lot of work but it looks great.
You have achieved 'Productive Boredom'! :D:D:D
I love scrappy quilts!
You have a wonderful collection and what an inspiration. Any time you feel like beginning a project all the heaven lifting is already done -- so to speak :)

a lot of work done! I can't wait to see what pattern you will be doing. I love scrappy quilts and I am always looking for inspiration. I have far less fabrics than that and I try to use the small pieces of fabrics that I have left before I become overwhelmed and buried under it
billi, thank you so much for the link you gave us. |
My hand hurts from looking at all that cutting. What beautiful quilts you will have there with all that material.
I have some fabric I am not to keen on & this would be a perfect way to use them. So you have inspired me to become a stripper too.
Wow! Can't wait to see what you make out of all that.
What a great idea, it had to be a lot of work for a few days but now you're ahead of the game.
WOW I am looking forward to what comes out of all that cutting.
You must have sore arms and shoulders after that workout. |
I am so impressed! Just think of the possibilities!

Love it! every time I cut up pieces for a project, all the left overs now get cut into strip and charm square. I have a lovely stash ready for scrappy cabins. :)
