It looks like a trellis. Applique a flowering vine border and leave the center alone. This may give you some ideas... http://quiltingstencils.com/viewallborders.aspx
I thought I had an original idea.... Ha... everyone said the same thing. |

It does look like a trellis, applique with vines and flowers up through the trellis would be nice.

What about yo-yos or mini hearts in the corners? E

I think all of the suggestions are great ones. And yes, I agree...I don't like boring either. :)

It really does have great potential!
But, I would not recommend machine embroidery. Wouldn't that mess with the size of the blocks, like distorting them since they are aready cut. I don't do machine embroidery so I don't know if the seams in the middle would be difficult. I agree with the others about apliqueing flowers and vines. Would love to see a picture when you are done. |

As a LAQ the first thing I thought of was quilting a block pattern in each one, making a wonderful whole cloth type quilt.
Its beautiful, and the work you put in it shows. I enjoy looking at all these creations! Enjoy, |
What if you put it together as is and use it for a backing? I think it would be a lovely back and then you could have a reversible quilt! :)
Just a thought.... |
