made this quilt at retreat & it's too boring to me. Thinking about machine embroidery in the blocks. Any suggestions? Maybe butterflies scattered randomly? Flowers? Hearts?

It's a very nice design but I agree it is lacking something. I think flowers would be nice.

Applique a scenery.
A Flower pot with daisies, or vines.
A garden gate with dramatic vines, flowers, etc....

To me It resembles a trellis.

How about applique? But you are right, it does need a little something....for some reason twining ivy popped into my head....Please keep us posted...this is going to look great whatever you decide.

Maybe add a set of blocks in another color.

Or you could break out and pick something bright, like bright colored squares or circles. WE want to see when you get it done. Whatever you decide. :):)

How about morning glories or wisteria?

Embroidery would work, but I see applique flowers on a trellis.

If it were my quilt, I would use the "trellis" to place vines and flowers on. It's such a blank canvas, anything you decide to do will be lovely!

It does look like a trellis. Vines and flowers would be pretty.
