Stunning quilt at show

3 Attachment(s)
Wanted to share this quilt I saw at a local show. Unfortunately, I didn't get the artists' name.
It looks like she (I'm assuming a she, could have been a he.) made up the entire thing from sections of paper piecing. I had to go back three times to look a it, I was so amazed at how intricate it was. Hope you enjoy it as much as I did!

ruthrings 06-10-2017 10:45 AM

This is where I always think that what this person does and what I do should have two different names!

Quilte E, I was at the Ailsa Craig show.

Thanks! I have never been to that one.
Had heard they were going to have quite a Canadiana presentation this year, in honour of the 150th.

I bet this is someone's favourite view. Perhaps at their cottage.
Or just a great photograph that they took up the challenge to recreate.

As you said ... stunning!
How large was it?

Dolphyngyrl 06-10-2017 11:24 AM

My first thought too. But Cynthia's looked more seamless, if you get my meaning. Someone may have taken a class of hers. Lovely quilt!

I know exactly what you mean. I am an amateur when it comes to "quilting artists" like this person. That is one stunning quilt. I must add, that almost all of my quilts are gifts for friends/family & so far, everyone has been super excited to get one, so I am not complaining. Just happy they are well loved.
That quilt is a masterpiece, like a jigsaw puzzle.
