Thank you to everyone for your comments! I don't know any quilters near me, so I really appreciate having somewhere to show this one off where people understand what went into it!

Beautiful! Love the bright colors!!!

What a wonderful piece of work--and worth every minute spend doing it. Congratulations, the old one

STUNNING!!!!!!

very nice. way to hang in there.

You must be the personification of "stick-tuitiveness". I think that one would be at the bottom, in the closet had I ever started it. Good thing there are people like you who finish such a treasure so the lazies like me can see it. What a beauty!

Beautiful! Be proud!

very amazing

That's an awful lot of work you have there. Make something easy for the next few projects, then you might tackle another long timer again.
|
Congratulations! Your quilt is beautiful.
After I finish the quilts that I have started, I will only do one quilt at a time. You are so smart to do that. |

I've regretted that decision regularly, since I am a one-at-a-time quilter. That's why it earned its name, as many times in the last year I've said I would love to work on (whatever new project attracted me) except that "I have to finish that Stupid Sylvia quilt". But finally I can call it DONE and move on to something smaller, easier, and a lot more fun. So why am I even glancing at the Dear Jane book??! Congrats! You're a better quilter than I am... |
You're looking at Dear Jane because you're so good at doing the impossible! And so disciplined! Excellent job, you will cherish this one forever. Give yourself a break though and do some easy stuff before you start Dear Jane. I recently saw Dear Jane in Chocolate and pinks, it was so beautiful!

W.O.W. Pretty original comment, huh? It is fabulous and I've mentally removed Stupid from the title... =)

I AM STANDING IN AWE OF YOU.

I am in awe!

Oh my word, that's a lot of blocks! It's so pretty! Congrats on finally getting it finished. Now, what are you going to do next???????
|
Stupid your not! Beautiful work and if you are like most, you have gained more wisdom as you worked on your beautiful quilt. Looks to me that maybe you have given stupid a whole different meaning! Thankyou for sharing with us.Jan

You are kidding!! what patience you must have. BEAUTIFUL BEAUTIFUL!!!
|
Since I have both Sylvia and Jane in progress I can empathize with your feelings. Both of them are challenges and both can be draining. But such fun!
It's beautiful...a toast to sticktoitiveness! |
that is so beautiful
|
Wish I could somehow make myself do one at a time. I plan to spend the next year finishing ALL my UFOs and WIPs. No fabric purchases that will not finish these projects off. Are any of you holding your breathe?
|
That is a super wonderful quilt!
Please, for a while maybe,I encourage you to throw your dear jane book under the bed and try something "out of the box" - like a big egg shaped easter egg wall hanging with no corners! Have some fun, dear and play! and play and play for a while.... Your dear jane book will wait for winter.... |
That looks like a block sampler. Just beautiful. You have way more patience than I have. I probably would have ended up with a pillow top or two. I think the name has to be changed to lovely sylvia. Take care.

Wonderful work. I admire your dilligence and stickability. More power to your needle and go for a Dear Jane quilt. Oh go on you know you want to really!
