Here is a photo of the Christmas ornaments gifts I made from Dec.'10 thru Feb.'11. I used Xmas scraps and/or fat eighths. I like the fact they look like they're quilted. Really found it fun and easy to do while watching TV, waiting for an appointment, etc. I made enough for each of the staff persons at my aunt's retirement home and then just kept going (some for relatives and me too).
Made a box of bows (see below) which I'll attach with an ornament hanger in Nov. using a glue gun. Also made 6 Spring/Easter ones and three sets of hanging Valentine ones. If interested, directions can be found at www.make-stuff.com/projects/quiltball.html Bought the 3" styro balls at Michael's with coupons and the MANY pins needed at Michael's or JoAnns with 40% off coupons or notions' sales. Be sure to use a thimble. Christmas ornaments Bows to attach later Valentine ornament |
Wow, you did have fun with those! Your tree will be amazing this year!
Wow, you have been busy.
Great & your bows are a beautiful addition. Now you'll have time to twiddle your thumbs in Dec. while everyone else is scrambling to finish gifts!!

So pretty, I made some once, but forgot how nice they are. Will have to do some more, you have inspired me
You sure have been busy! There beautiful! I can imagine a tree with them all on it and it's georgous! Thanks for sharing!
Neat!
These can also be made with wide satin ribbon - not with fabric.
Those are great! I have that pattern, but haven't tried it yet. I make the fabric pinecone ornaments with the egg styrafoam in the center.
thanks for the link...I plan to make them in the fall...maybe I'll get started a little earlier.
My! You have been busy! I have the pattern, but have not made one much less kazillions! They are great! I love the Valentine ones too!

Oohhh...might have to make some of those...thanks for the link!

I love these ornaments. Years ago I had a tree with alot of them on it. Some how in storage they got damp and mildewed. It was so sad. I bought the supplies to make more but never have. I think it's all in a box in my closet. I might have to drag it out for next Christmas.
You really did stay busy and made some beautiful decorations. I have made those but it has been a long time. My problem would be making those pretty bows!
I love them....so cute.
If you find you don't have enough room for all these, I'll be glad to "keep" some....really nice work.
Wow!! You sure made a bunch of them. Your tree will be beautiful.
Those are gorgeous! Aren't they addicting to make?? I got started making them @ Christmas time and couldn't stop! I loved making them! Good idea to do them now and leave the rest of the year for quilting and gift making! Also, might be easier to find the 3" styrofoam forms, I had a bit of trouble finding them last year.
Wow they look difficult, but beautiful. Would love t omake one but don't think I have the talent for it.

Beautiful job..that is going to be a very pretty Christmas tree next year..might need to get busy myself making ornaments.
Ohhhhh, those are so pretty. You did a good job!!
These are fun to make. I like the decorative pins/sequins (?) you put at the point of each star. I've always thought they would look great in a bowl or basket, in colors of the season, much like fruit in a bowl.
Love them. Beautiful!
