Suede texas quilt

1 Attachment(s)
I'm new to this great site - and thought i'd post this "outside the cotton box" photo of a recent quilt i made with faux suede fabrics. The backing was faux suede as well...and heavy enough that i stitched in the ditch with no batting. Only down side - i had to clean out my bobbin housing about every hour of sewing as the fibers from the faux suede tended to glog it. Hope you like it...and hope the photo actually posts !!!

OH... I like it!

mom-6 07-05-2012 08:47 AM

Gorgeous!!!
Had to do the same when sewing with velvet and with corduroy, but it's worth it.
The one I made with corduroy is also very heavy and I just tied it. The friend I made it for named it "Blankelroy" and takes it with her camping as well as keeping it on her bed.
Do you get to keep this beauty for your own? I would hope so.

Very nice! This makes me re-think the remnants I'm leaving behind at the fabric stores because they're not cotton.

Oh, that's lovely! I like the simplicity of it, and the state of Texas in the center just makes it nicely personal. Bet you're glad you made it, even with all the cleaning sessions while 'in process'! Love it!

debcavan 07-05-2012 03:18 PM

Is that cool. I love the change in color on the binding too.

Ditto. Welcome from Northern California. Both my parents came from Texas. So maybe I am a Texan by blood? Love the colors. BrendaK
