Sunbonnet Sue
2 Attachment(s)
Hopefully I've attached pics of my Sunbonnet Sue. This pic shows my mom and I working on this quilt for my daughter. We quilted it using my grandmother's wooden quilt frame. It isn't perfect by any means, but it was made with love!

Very nice quilt great pictures :)

Love this and the fact you're using your grandmother's frame. Also makes me giggle a little. WEnt to my friend's house when she decided to use her grandmother's old frame. She has a good ear (her right) and was working on a quilt sitting in the same position as your mother. She dozed off with needle in hand and had fallen asleep on the quilt on he right side. She didn't hear me announce myself. She looked so comfortable as your mother and I hated to wake her up. She had to adjust the frame a little but I giggle thinking about it.

A quilt made with love is the best quilt - and four generations of the family are involved. Lovely.

The words that popped into my head were used by Tartan and several others, as I read down the line.."Made with Love"

Your pictures are so endearing as you and your mom work together on the Sue quilt. It looks wonderful. It will be a treasure for sure. Quilting really does bind the generations together. Thank you for sharing your pictures with us; our hearts are warmed.

I LOVE THIS QUILT! What a treasure you have. In essence, there is three generations working on this quilt for the fourth generation.
|
Beautiful quilt, fabulous memories. I have a couple pictures of my mom and I quilting at her house. Treasures.
|
Great that you could work on the project with your mom. A wonderful keepsake for your daughter.
|
Your quilt is beautiful. I love the Sunbonnet Sue quilts. It is on my bucket list. It is so awesome to be quilting with your Mom on your Grandmothers frame. That is just so special & fun. You should print that picture on fabric & attach it to the back with the label. That would make it super special for your daughter. Have fun!

Sunbonnet Sue is one of my favorite patterns.
What a beautiful quilt and memory you and your mom made. |
Your daughter is so lucky to have a mom and a grandmother that care enough to make a special quilt just for her. Be sure to give her copies of these pictures along with the quilt or better yet, include the pictures on your label. Precious!
|
I agree with the others you should make sure you have a copy of this photo. For want of privacy my neighbor won't let me photograph a couple of her quilts. She has a photo of every quilt she has ever made. She has the photo in a frame in the rooms where the quilts are used/reside. I thought it was such a neat idea. On the back of the photo she has another of the label or where it can be viewed. She has impaired vision but still quilts beautifully.

Wonderful!!! Love Sunbonnet quilts.
|
It's beautiful! Love the fabrics. I slept under a Sunbonnet Sue as a child, a quilt my grandmother made, and I'd give anything to still have it. I assume we wore it out and my mother discarded it, but I still remember the colors and the Sues.
