Had to make a run to the store for batteries....because the size you need can never be found in the house when you need it.

no power for me and the guy across the street

lantern to the rescue

pretty ice on the trees....and notice how the people across the street have power...not even fair...although I am somehow connected to their internet wi-fi, so I guess it's not all that bad

pretty pics I asume you have a quilt to snuggle under if it gets cold inside :)

Love the look of the ice on the trees.

Yes, I've pulled out a few extra quilts for the night...suppose to get down to 18 degrees. It's still currently 31 and raining.

The quilts will keep me warm...I just hope the pipes don't freeze...maybe I should wrap them in quilts too ... LOL

You are so funny. I'm glad you can keep up that sense of humor.

Keep warm. We received a lot of ice and now (blowing) snow. You must have more though, we still have power. I'd stay home if I were you, looks too slippery to be out and about. Internet is slow (froze). Looks like the porch light next door (in your photo)is on too.

Yup, everyone to the right of me has power...everyone to the left is without power.

Thankfully, I have Monday off work for the holiday...so at least I don't need to worry about the commute or getting ready for work in the dark.

..and my family lives close by - they have all invited me to come over, but I'm good, so I'm gonna stay home and ride it out.

stay safe and stay warm

Hope your power comes on quickly - but if not, then open up all of your cabinets where your plumbing is located to let any warmer air get to them. Close off rooms that you won't be using and closets too.

HTH - we were without power for 10 days in 07 - but had a fireplace and a gas stove.

thanks for the tips...

we have tree limbs snapping all over the neighborhood...I can hear them...sounds like gunfire...very eerie outside right now.
