This is going to be a well-loved quilt. It is a very happy quilt with loads of personality. There is so much to like about this creation. The wide minky binding brought from the back is a creative finish. The quilting is perfect. Thinking as a six-year-old, it is dreamy.
I always admire your work. How did you like doing the applique? peace |
I love bright quilts and this is gorgeous.
|
What a wonderful quilt. I really like the positive and negative blocks. Charming. I love the fact that your dear MIL treasured it so much and now you have it back. What greater tribute to a quilter than to have someone show it to whomever would look.
|
Love the quilt and Paper Princess's name "Splat", though it also reminds me of the ball and jacks game I used to play as a child. The recipient will adore this quilt! Thanks for the story about your MIL and your second longarm quilting adventure. It gives me hope as I struggle to figure out what to place where and have used a similar technique with cardboard templates of dinosaurs, and footprints to add along with my meandering. What to place where is always my biggest struggle.

Just fabulous! Pure happiness in a quilt.

I love the hot colors and the exuberant pattern. I guess the six-year-old girl in me lurks just below the surface. Beautiful!:D Viva los colores!

This quilt is magical! If you are feeling sad just need to wrap yourself in happiness. Magic! Wonderful job.

Being an infj personality I saw the picture and laughed...with glee!
I could see it the way you saw it, but I could also see it the way my grandmunchkins would and it's perfect for an eight year old Feline. I love your pet name for it :D. It's a very happy pattern and the binding is Perfect for it. Almost makes me want to be a kid again. |
Oh I love it! While I like the term Technicolor Vomit (clown barf is another one I've heard...) I brought along a project to work at while I'm at my mom's as she recovers from back surgery. I'm calling it "a quilt too loud to sleep under".
I bought a bag of assorted scraps at the Goodwill, most of the fabric isn't anything special, Walmart and Joann fat quarters for the most part. I would never have brought most of those fabrics home, yet as a grouping they all work together. I'm using that bag as an exercise in freedom from my usual OCD quilting method. Fabrics I didn't and wouldn't necessarily choose (although there are a couple I like quite a bit), and I'll be making over-sized wonky 9-patches without matching seams and cutting at odd angles. I think it will end up looking like one of the quick crazy quilt techniques and I'm hoping someone will love it (it will be a donation project). Again, even if it doesn't appeal to you, I think that is one special happy quilt! |
Happy, happy, happy quilt. It lifts the spirit and makes you want to start the day off on the right foot. Brightens the room. I think you did a marvelous job on it and the quilting is fabulous. You made one little girl happy. It may not be something I'd put on my bed but maybe I should. Be proud and go ahead put a label on it without naming it.
|
I love the name you used(privately)! I have many quilts that the name I know them as is not on the label. Love how you quilted the wonky squares as a ghost of the "splats"!
|
Great quilts! I think bright colors are so much fun to work with.
|
I love it too!!!!!
|
It is gorgeous! Just love the colours in it! Beautiful!
