I just finished this wild quilt top, using my scrap strips left over from making a lot of quilt tops with novelty fabrics. It's sort of like a grown-up I Spy quilt top! I named this one "Festival of Color, AKA Scraps."

Great use of fabric scraps.

What a fun thing to do with scraps. It is awesome. I just keep saying, I Love Scrap Quilts! Have so many bookmarked, I guess I am going to have to learn how to use the new My Pages option. Thanks for sharing with us.

Thanks for sharing. I love it! I wonder what I'm going to do with my scraps from previous projects and now I know.

Linda Rotz Miller Quilts and Quilt Tops 08-09-2011 04:17 AM

I do a lot of scrap quilts! I cut my scraps after each quilt top into a group of different sizes that I commonly use and then, when I have enough, I make a scrappy quilt top.

JaKnits 08-09-2011 04:24 AM

Wow, what a fun quilt!

patd 08-09-2011 04:30 AM

I just finished a top using a lot of novelties, too. I'm planning on making it a "camping quilt" and will play I Spy with the grandkids when we camp.

WOW very pretty, love scraps quilts. Always feel like they are free tops as if you didn't use scraps they would go in garbage.

I feel the same way, hate to throw away anything, even save the selvages. They are wonderful for pot holders, pin cushions. Your scrap quilt is wonderful!

AFQSinc 08-09-2011 05:06 AM

Beautiful!

I know just what you mean about free tops from scraps! After all, the scraps cost just as much as the rest of the fabric :)

jillnjo 08-09-2011 05:31 AM
