Glad you got your quilt back. I have several I've given my mom that I'd like back later to give to the grandchildren.

Scrap Happy 02-15-2011 06:41 AM

What a precious quilt for you to have! I'm glad that your step father got it back to you. It is beautiful and so is your label. I understand your sentiment to keep it protected it is so very special. I have a quilt that I made for my Dad. It is on the couch but we rarely use the couch. I get to see the quilt and be reminded of how much my Dad liked the quilt. And if the mood strikes me I'll wrap myself up in it :) I'm sorry for your losses.

Bluebonnet Sue 02-15-2011 06:48 AM

So very happy for you. You two belong together.

xsquilter 02-15-2011 07:09 AM

janie3954 02-15-2011 07:52 AM

I'm just happy you got it back, and I also think you should put it out where you can see it. I see you live in Missoula, I live in Dillon, MT.

Butterflyblue 02-15-2011 07:58 AM

Wow, nice quilt. I think I made that same quilt for my grandmother (except in really different colors). Is it from a book called "24 Hour Quilts" or something like that?

And the label isn't bad at all. It has all the important parts and is neat, to boot. I've done much worse, and then there are my first quilts I didn't even put labels on.

Grandma Libby 02-15-2011 08:18 AM

Bless his heart for Fed-Ex...ing to you. Ooh, don't be afraid to use it -- Your Mom would like to see it on one of your beds somewhere. I wouldn't put it away and SAVE it. I finished an antique quilt top given me by a neighbor a few years ago. Someone asked WHAT I was going to do with it when it was finished. I said, "Well, it's going on my bed -- it has been stored away in a cedar chest long enough, about 50 or 60 years.."

IDquilter 02-15-2011 09:14 AM

Yes I am glad it was found and returned to you, it will be a treasure. I like it and sure your mother did to.

belmer 02-15-2011 09:58 AM

Lovely quilt.
Perhaps you might consider displaying it on a quilt rack.
Much too lovely to hide in a chest.
