My Mother passed on 3 weeks before my husband in 2009. When we were clearing her stuff the one item I was looking for... I couldn't find and I made my step-father swear when he found it, he would get it to me. This morning it came by FedEx.

This is the second quilt I ever made. (forgive the label. It was my second also LOL) I thought I would share it with you all before I put it in my hope chest.

Beautiful. To pretty to store away. Would be nice if you could display it. I understand trying to save it though, the memories last a lifetime.

I agree about not putting it in a chest. It was meant to show love. If you don't want it where it will get a lot of wear, put in on a bed you don't use often, or throw it on the back of a chair or couch that's not often used. You may find the furniture gets used more with such a lovely quilt at hand :lol:

The quilt is beautiful, you should keep it out to remind you of the happy times you had with your Mom. I made a table runner for my MIL as one of my first quilting projects and she passed away in Nov. My FIL has mild Alzheimer's and does not know where it is. His health is not very good so I will wait and when we go through their "stuff" I am sure I will find it. Then I will display it so our grandchildren will have something to remember her by too.

Use it ! She will be wrapping her arms about you ! gentle hugs

Your quilt is lovely. Sorry for your loss. I know she treasured this gift and I'm so glad you got it back. Now, you can take it out and hold it on occasions that you really need to feel your mother's love.
