What is the old way to do the binding ? There are many ways to do binding. 'The old method' I am referring to is using the backing as your binding, just bring it around to the front. Yes, you'll have to cut it and then press the 1/4 inch hem, pin in place and sew. You can even miter it. I've seen old quilts that had this method of backing/binding. It's all one piece. It works well for smaller projects, but I've seen it on an old bed quilt before as well. I've been asked this question before and am pondering doing a tutorial on it. Kind Regards, MaryAnna |
