Tea Cup Mats
3 Attachment(s)
Tea cup mats I made for the hostess's of a Xmas tea I was invited too. I thought they turned out really cute, they are about a 12 inch square. I got the pattern off of a tv program Quilt in a day with EB. I was laying on the couch one afternoon getting ready to take a nap and was spanning the globe with the remote when I came across this. I hit record and wrote down the instructions.

After I watched the show, I tried to find the pattern on line. No luck. The only thing I could find was a book w/the pattern in it called Christmas at Bear Paws Ranch for $40. So I went with the recording and kept pausing it until I had it figured out and wrote down. I posted another pic of a wall hanging I did with the cups, still need to quilt it. So here goes.
Cup fabric; cut 1-3"x5" center of cup, cut 2-3x6 for sides of cup, cut 1-71/2 x 1 1/2 for saucer, cut 1on bias-1 1/4x7. background fabric;cut 2-3x6 for sides of cup, cut 2- 1 1/2"x 1 1/2"for saucer, cut 1-1 1/2 x5 1/2 for rt side of cup background, cut 1-2x5 1/2 left side of cup background. Shelf fabric; cut 1- 1 1/2x9 1/2. Take one each of the 3x6 and sew together on the diagonal, square each piece to 2 1/2 x 5. Sew the 1 1/2 pieces to the saucer on the diagonal on each end. Trim and press and sew to bottom of cup. I used a piece of an old lace dolly between the saucer and the shelf. Finish sashing strips anyway you would like. I hope this works for you, let me know if I can help. |
