I printed out the EQ6 pattern and made one of them. It was fairly easy to do. I haven't squared it up but it doesn't look like it's totally out of whack.

That's gorgeous Pam! You've done an excellent job!
I was trying to decide whether to plow ahead or wait till you'd done one, but I had a sneaky suspicion you'd get it done super quick. Thank you for sharing the pattern, it's very much appreciated. :-) |
Pam - I love that!
K x PS I take it DD has gone home! LOL |
The cravings must have got tooo much for her K!! Love your block Pam!! :D

Is this the beginnings of another swap ?? I must say you've done a great job on that one.
|
That is so cute. Would love a copy if they are available.
|
Pam...cute, cute, cute!!!!! Is that a standard pattern in EQ6 or did you draw that??? Of course, I have EQ5..
|
DD is leaving on Saturday. I did this at 10:30 last night when everyone was asleep. 8)
I don't know how to get the file into PDF but was it bluechicken who said she could do it? I didn't see right off that there is a way to get it to a printable file in EQ6 but maybe reading the Help would.... help. I need to try out the boy too but I assume that it's ok if the girl is. Am I doing a black and white one? Why yes, I believe I will but not for the B&W swap. It's an 8" block  |
Love it Would also love to have the pattern when it becomes available, pretty please. My small quilt club would love it.

Thanks for sharing! Ninnie : Of course, I had to look through my stash for small scale prints, things that would look like jeans, etc. |

Cute PDF is the program I use to make PDF's, it's great, just like a virtual printer only instead of a hard copy it asks you for a file name and saves it to pdf.
I've done the pdf's for foundation piecing, and another set for templates. These are for 12" finished blocks. **note: for anyone printing the templates, one piece has split over two pages, there was no way around it, but it prints with a line of tiny little dots where the two have to join, so you can make sure that you get it matched exactly.** Rotary cutting instructions Templates Foundation piecing pattern |

I haven't actually made one of these yet, but will be locking myself in my dungeon tomorrow to have a go.
I have a vision in my head of scraps of my kid's favourite outfits over the years made into these blocks, what an awesome way to remember and hang onto their childhood. |
I forgot to ask Pam what method you used, did you rotary cut them or print templates?
|
You're a doll for working out these patterns and sharing them with us. There are so many possibilities for personalizing them. And I like the suggestion someone had to use your child's outgrown clothing to make the blocks. Thanks a bunch for sharing.
|
Thanks BC!
It is so Great of you to do this I will try them this weekend. Ninnie |
I printed the templates and marked around them. I have some template material around here somewhere. Thanks for doing the PDFs. I'll have to try the 12" blocks.
|
What size did you do?
Sorry... I just assumed that 12 was kind of standard so did them all at that. |
I too, would like a copy if availabe. Thanks for sharing!
|
Thanks so so much everyone for the pattern they are so cute. Cant wait to try my hand.
Jane in Florida |
the blocks the lady posted are 8 inches and i believe pam did them at 8 inches.
i think if you reduce the size to 8 inches the pattern won't fall off the pages. |
very cute and looks pretty easy to put together. Good Job!!
|
Changing the size is easy.... give me ten minutes and I'll post 8" blocks.
