Here is a pic of my latest quilt. I just picked it up from the quilter this a.m. It was a BOM from my local quilt shop. All of the embroidery and applique is done by hand.

That's beautiful! Which quilt store had it as a block of the month? I don't remember it from my area... Houston.

KathyAire 04-12-2011 10:00 AM

That is beautiful. I did one as a BOM, also. Yours is much prettier and well done, than mine. In fact, yours is the best I've seen yet and I've seen that pattern done at every quilt show and Fair in Texas. Bravo.

For those Texans interested in doing that quilt, I will say that is not the quilt you want to do on your own, just my opinion. The pattern is very intimadating and takes up a whole notebook.

Oh sniff, sniff. that makes me miss home more that I did.
i love the oil well. I still get tiny checks for my mineral rights in Texas(they only pump gas, no oil).

suezquilts 04-12-2011 10:55 AM

Who is the designer? I really like this and I'm sure someone could figure it out for Wisconsin, all you talented people...
would we have to have a Packer's block???

Oh that's beautiful. Would love to do one like that. What quilt shop did you find it in???

txgran 04-12-2011 12:58 PM

Texas, Our Texas was designed by Alice Wilhoit.

txgran 04-12-2011 12:59 PM

Quilt shop where I obtained Texas, Our Texas BOM is Memories by the Yard, San Antonio, TX. Stitchin' Heaven (Quitman, TX) may also have a BOM going for this but I don't know for sure.

karenm36 04-12-2011 03:24 PM

Oh, gosh...I'd love to make one for my husband!!! Our sons are all 5th generation Texans and my husband is so proud of that! Is this as difficult as it looks? I'd love to try it!

ConnieNana 04-12-2011 03:41 PM

We had it as a club event. Mine is almost done. I am in Garland.
The quilt is an Alice Wilhoit original and was recently brought out of retirement. Check online for stores that might carry it.
