I'm not anymore:-( Company closed. I freelanced for awhile but that work has dried up also. The Textile industry is all but dead in NY. 95% of my friends are out of work and the rest are hanging on by their nails. It's very sad. I would give anything to be designing again. One good thing that came out of this is that I can QUILT,QUILT,QUILT. Also I made friends with some of the quilters I designed groups for and that's a plus.

quiltingbea 08-21-2010 05:47 PM

Oh, that is really sad. Maybe you could teach quilting or design at a school or something. They are beautiful!

SharonAnne 08-21-2010 05:48 PM

All are wonderful. I really, really want/need some of the ice skating mice. Where can I get some? Perhaps I should not be asking that on this forum, however. Not sure of protocol - am pretty new here. Maybe you can post in "Classifieds". Thanks.

I designed them for Lyndhurst studio. It was a devision of Northcott Silk. Google Northcott Silk and you can get there number. Thay are located in NJ and the parent company is in Canada. Try the Canada number first. If you still have trouble geting the number let me know and I'll get it for you.

sewgull 08-21-2010 06:03 PM

Your is beautiful. American textiles are gone, shame on our government. I also have many friends that lost jobs when textiles were sent to other countries. More American jobs lost.

You are so right. I saw this coming 10yrs ago and tried to convince the company's I worked for to keep it in the USA. Now because of greed we are all paying for it.

Baysidegal 08-21-2010 06:12 PM

Love the mouse fabric!

I always wondered:

How do you decide what to come with for a design? Do they give any criteria or are you completely free on what you want to design?

Welcome to the board from Texas. Why did you wait so long to join us? :D We could have been buying your designs all along, and maybe kept some of the textile companies here in the US. Well, it was a thought, anyhow.
