Thai Silk isn't the easiest of fabric, it is a lot "stiffer" than ordinary silk which helps, it can be pressed just select silk on your iron, ordinary silk is almost impossible, you would have to have a very simple pattern not as many seams as this one.

My friend is of to Thailand next week I have asked her to buy me some more I intend to make myself a jacket.

Ooooh, a jacket! Wow. It can't help but be beautiful. I'm wondering if you could use something like FrayCheck on the edges? There are a couple of other products like that on the market. I love your cushions/pillows!

A tip I have just picked up is that you iron on a light stabilizer BEFORE you cut out the silk, solves the fraying problem.
