Had this Thai Silk forever so I thought I would make a pair of cushions for a friend who has not been too well, hope she likes them.
Last time I visited her I noted the colors in her lounge suite, I think they will go rather well. Was not the easiest fabric to work with, Thai Silk frays while you look at it. Thai Silk Dahlias |

Wow! They are beautiful Carol!! Not the easiest fabric to work on I'm sure!!They will be much admired!!
|
Wow!! Those are the most beautiful pillows I have seen! I can only imagine sewing with that silk. Did you use the serger? Excellent work.
|
They are just so pretty....stunning!!!
|
No I did not use a "Serger" I swear too much at them when the thread breaks so I gave mine away to a good home. Took me ages to work out what a "Serger" was, here down under they are known as "Overlockers".
Bit like me thinking your Barn Quilts were made out of fabric, two countries divided by a common language. |
Beautiful, absolutely beautiful
|
holy cow those are beautiful. So elegant looking.I'm sure she will love them.

I'm with you, sometimes I need an interpreter to understand some of the terms on this board. I'm sure our sister quilters think the same of us Aussies. Cheers from Sydney, Glenda |

Once you have made one you have to make more because of all the choice of color combinations, like quilting they are addictive, |

Bit like me thinking your Barn Quilts were made out of fabric, two countries divided by a common language. I've got a bag full of gorgeous silk scraps and they fray every time I get them out to gaze at the colours. I am bookmarking this topic as a reminder and an example, to show what can be achieved with silk. Meanwhile, back on earth, thank you for saving me the bother of looking up sergers. I'd gathered they were nothing to do with serge, but hadn't come anywhere near working out what they were. Three nations separated by a common language. |
stunning!

Was the silk hard to work with? I don't know that I'd have patience for something I couldn't press with high heat.
