What's the name of this block? Is it a paper pieced block?

Oh yes this block is much better. The red really brings out the pattern. Love it.

LOL, I hate to be a pain, but I still think the lighter color would go best next to the center and the darker on the outside. That's the way a flower opens. Other than that, it is indeed lovely, as was the other block.

I wish I could see your other thread and the improvement. I love the way it looks like this, elegant, beautiful...It looks like a crown and would be a great Christmas quilt. What pattern is this? Gosh it is so striking, I love looking at it.
