The HST's were cut at 9 inches and then I squared them up to 8 inches. I know that's a lot of waste, but I had lots of fabric and didn't want to take a chance on having anything out of square. I also put 4 borders on this quilt to make it fit a queen size bed. Here is the pattern I used:

It is a free pattern and very easy (although it took me a lot more than 4 hours to do it).
