What a great story!

I did not know that thimble cases existed. What a lovely way to share a special memory of your Grandmother with others.

I have one of the Thimble Cages also. The thible was my grandmothers and I had it silver plated to keep. She did have small fingers for sure and I could never use it as my fingers are bigger. But it is a wonderful keepsake.

How sweet to have the thimble as a sweet remembrance of your grandmother.

I love the idea of wearing my grandmother's thimble - I wish I'd thought to keep one! Forgive me, but I giggled at having a left-handed thimble. You know, to go with my left-handed hammer and all... (Am truly left-handed and have never attempted hand-quilting yet!

Where did you find this piece? I'm the one who was inquiring about a way to present a thimble much as the one you describe. It is sterling and inscribed with initials and the year of graduation for my late mother-in-law. I intend to give it to my granddaughter at her high school graduation. She is named for her great-grandmother.
