From Cathy Wierzbicki's "Geometric Gems".
Sorry for the blurry cell phone picture. Finally taking this one off the design wall. It will sit on the shelf for a bit until I learn how to use the longarm machine. Don't have it yet. Hopefully, Sunday the Avante will be mine. Can't wait! |

Oh it is outrageously wonderful. I love cubes.
When I got my machine, I did Linus project quilts and borrowed other people's tops, ones they were not going to finish. I learned on these until I had the skill level for my own. Actually I am still doing the Linus quilts. By the time I do something two to three times on a Linus Quilt, I have no problem and no fear of doing it on my own Now don't worry if the first time you use the machine, your stitching isn't perfect especially if you try something fancy. Most people cry "oh I have wasted my money". It takes just a little practice and then you will have control of all those fancy stitches. Meandering comes more easily but even doing that trains in your muscles and fine tunes your movements. |
Thanks for your words of encouragement, debcavan. I have a whole shelf of quilts like that ;-)

Deb, this quilt is amazing. I look at pics of other forum member's quits but this the best in a long time. Your color choices are great. You should consider entering this in a quilt show. What size is the finished quilt? and the indivi blocks? I have a similiar book and you've given me the incentivt to make my current projects UFOs and start on this. Job well done!
