Gotta love it! Never met a batik I didn't like! :)

gramquilter2 02-13-2013 11:31 AM

Love the colors you used in your design. Are you using batiks?

kathmass 02-13-2013 02:43 PM

I don't care for the Batiks but I have to tell you that I really like this one. It looks like stained glass. Very pretty.

quiltsRfun 02-13-2013 02:47 PM

I love it! Just an FYI. If you rotate every other block there are fewer seams to match.

EllenwoodGa 02-13-2013 03:08 PM

I love your quilt design, and your choice of fabric. It looks like I'll be adding another quilt to my to do list.

trolleystation 02-13-2013 03:24 PM

I am not a fan of Batik but I really like the look of your quilt. I think that it will turn out great.

Poakie 02-13-2013 03:25 PM

I love it! I love the batiks.

Elfi2 02-13-2013 03:38 PM

Looks good but I would try to see what it looks like it you make all the centers one colour in a plain, no batik.

deanneellen 02-13-2013 04:21 PM

Looks yummy! Can't wait to see the final product!

Jackie R 02-13-2013 04:23 PM

I like it a lot - and the batiks look great.

I love it so simple and soooo BEAUTIFUL!
Are your blocks 6"?

Auntie Em 02-13-2013 06:25 PM

Looks good....just love the colors!!!

jeanharville 02-13-2013 09:14 PM

A beautiful design and layout. I think the batiks are perfect. I'm amazed when you and others can put so many different colors and designs together and make it all blend and become something stunning. My hats off to ya.

I am so tempted to buy that EQ software. Are you happy with it and is it easy to use?

dahlshouse 02-14-2013 06:21 AM

Looks great... I love batiks

Emma S 02-14-2013 07:20 AM

Teresa: I bought the EQ years ago. Witness the fact I have the "5". I frequently take a block and design a whole quilt. A great way to play. Rhonda did a tut here on the board that is invaluable. I would say if you can, go for it. If you get stuck there are so many users on the board, someone can help you.

Loveit and now have added it to my bucket list!

Boston1954 02-14-2013 03:05 PM

Oma66 that is absolutely gorgeous!! You did a beautiful job chosing your colors, and the pieced border just makes it. Thanks so much for showing.

Actually the black lines came from the EQ5 program. Someone showed me how to eliminate them. It does look better to me. But if you enjoy the lines, I would probably make them 1/2 inch.

Oh, I forgot to tell that I will naming it "Tropical Nights". And green pen your quilt sounds cute. I would love to see a picture.

one thing i would recommend - turning every other block so that your seams don't match!

Or press the seams so that they lock instead of bunch. On one block the seams would be pressed toward the center - on the one below the seams would be pressed toward the outside edges.

Marley46 08-24-2015 07:03 PM

Very nice!! I like that very much. Love batiks!

Boxed squares quilt

Hi, I'm new here and new to quilting. I think I can manage the quilt you have shown, but I want to use those same colors, if possible. Is there a charm pack or something? Or can you tell me what they are?
TIA

This thread is very old, so it's unlikely that the same fabrics would be available. But you could take the picture to a quilt shop and ask for help choosing something similar.

Welcome to the quilting board. Here is a video showing you how to make the H block using scrap fabrics. vhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9IAbD-r35
As for using the same colors shown, the poster of the quilt did so a long time. I hope you have fun quilting!

rjwilder 11-23-2022 04:32 PM

It’s beautiful! I have a lot of 1/2 yard and fat quarters that are batiks. This has inspired me to use those batiks, thanks for sharing your quilt.
