Love it! I'm glad you included the second picture of the center four blocks - makes it easier to figure out how the rest of it is put together. Thanks for sharing this!

Here is the beginning of a block. Basically it's just a quarter of a log cabin. You put as many blocks together as you need to make the 3/4 or 1/2 square blocks. It's all placement.

It really is a fun quilt to make. I am glad I found the pattern because I don't think I would have come up with this concept on my own.

Thanks to everyone for the compliments. I'll be sure to let my grandson know that our collaboration has paid off with big praise here.

Next quilt by this pattern will have hot pink in it also. Unfortunately Kyle said no to pink of any kind in this one!!! Funny how boys think that way!

first block started

I have that pattern by another name, I think...but maybe it doesn't have the border around each block? It sure looks like fun to make!!

Actually that's not a border. I only showed the very beginning of the block. There were three more rows. The final row is my black with the little white pin dot. When the blocks are set it does look like a frame, doesn't it?

It is a fun block. I made up a graph for the color placement and then calculated how many blocks I would like the seams to iron into the center on and how many would iron out. That way I could nest the seams when I assembled the blocks. It made me a little nutz but it worked out in the end.

Where did you order the pattern?

Super quilt-I am making a black/white/orange quilt for my grandson and just finished a black/white/red quilt for his brother. Guess those are the colors grandsons like?

Ah! I see what you mean. It does look like a border. Your calculations paid off!!
