littlehud 03-18-2010 06:40 PM

What a beautiful "living room". It looks great to me.

dkabasketlady 03-18-2010 07:25 PM

What a nice sewing room, I see nothing wrong with it? Enjoy!

Jim's Gem 03-18-2010 08:51 PM

You've got yourself a nice room there. Thanks for sharing'

needlehappy 03-18-2010 10:00 PM

Good to see you have your priorities right with taking over the living room, and besides you can definately still live in the room. Well done.

ScubaK 03-18-2010 10:43 PM

I love it as I keep teasing DHubby about this kinda thing...

Now, THAT'S my kind of Sewing Room!! :D What a spacious place that you have to sew in. I am pee green with envy!! It looks like you are making good use of it, too. Enjoy that sewing room, every minute you can!!
:D :D :D :D

beachlady 03-19-2010 05:47 AM

Great room. Who needs a living room?

DebraK 03-19-2010 06:12 AM

Well, that is where you live, right?

AmyS 03-19-2010 09:47 AM

Yep, I do live in there. LOL.. Ty for all your wonderful comments. Someday I will have the room of my dreams, but for now this is cool!

craftybear 03-19-2010 10:27 AM

I love your sewing room! Awesome!

charmpacksplus 03-19-2010 11:45 AM

I love how you have your fabric in the china cabinet.... that's where I keep some of mine too. Who needs china anyway!

Shibori 03-19-2010 11:54 AM

Amy! what is the handle that looks like a bicycle break? I have the same set up and if it's to start and stop sewing I would love to have one!

Shibori 03-19-2010 12:36 PM

bicycle brake rather! I can't spell

brushandthimble 03-19-2010 12:58 PM

great sewing room setup! thanks for sharing:)

butterjoy 03-19-2010 02:00 PM

I know this may sound dumb but, please explain the quilting machine. Is it your regular sewing machine with arms attached? How is that done?

Bailey's mom 03-19-2010 02:07 PM

I love it and it is so organized..after all when do we use the dining room these days...Thanksgiving? It is so much happier to be using space rather than wasting space!!!

Oklahoma Suzie 03-19-2010 02:24 PM

nice space

Feathers 03-20-2010 05:36 AM

Great space and you have it so well arranged for convenience and productivity. Love it. I also like the quilt you have on the long arm...those are my colors! I can send you my addy if you want to find a happy, loving home for the quilt ;) ;-) You can throw "Binky" in, too. I'll take good care of him!

CompulsiveQuilter 03-20-2010 05:48 AM

To quilt is to live ... so what not quilt in the living room!

jeanm3 03-20-2010 06:12 AM

Yes, please send information on how you have your Janome hooked up to your quilting frame. Thanks!

wraez 03-20-2010 02:03 PM

Fabulous, but I'm most envious of your long arm machine.

I also have a Janome6500 and love it but it can't compare to the quilting capabilities of that long arm.

warm quilt hugs, sue in CA

#1piecemaker 03-20-2010 02:44 PM

How nice. I'm not showing yall mine!!!! It is a diaster.

maryb119 03-20-2010 03:39 PM

Great sewing room. I used to have a family room but I use it for my sewing room.

Granny B 03-20-2010 05:07 PM

Sewing rooms are always better than living rooms!

sewgull 03-20-2010 05:45 PM

Don't we LIVE in our sewing room. So the seing room must be
your true living room. Enjoy the space and hve fun sewing.

N.J.linda 03-20-2010 06:58 PM

It looks like you do a lot of LIVING in that room, so it's very fitting that you have taken it over. Enjoy it.

I've wondered that too - how does a "straight" stitch machine work as a "longarm".

PS If I didn't have to share the house with my husband, my living room would probably look like that too!

zz-pd 03-20-2010 09:52 PM

you have all kinds of toys, thank you for sharing. Penny

Nathan's Mimi 03-21-2010 01:56 AM

I'd like to know what type of machine that is also;as I have a Hintreburg Frame and a reg. machine doesn't give me enough "space"to really quilt on it likr I thought.

katsewnsew 03-21-2010 02:50 AM

Hey! Sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do Love the cute little black fuzzy puppy!!

AmyS 03-21-2010 05:37 AM

My machine is the Janome 1600p with the 9.5 throat. Someday I will have a larger one. But this machine does what I want it to for now.

Sheila Elaine 03-21-2010 05:40 AM

Hey, your quilting is more important than having a living room. You can build on a living room some other time. Love your little quilting buddy. He's adorable.

Well it rides the carriage along the tracks. Just think the reverse of free motion quilting under your sit down machine. ( you would normally move the quilt, but with this set up ya move the machine.) Some of these other ladies might be able to explain it bettter. I drewl ova the real long arms! I think they concider mine a short arm??

Does the carriage move side to side or does it allow you to go back and forth too? Does it move in more than two directions?

AmyS 03-21-2010 08:46 AM

Yes the carriage moves side to side and front to back allowing for smooth curves, circles, or straight lines.

quilterj 03-21-2010 09:31 AM

Yes I too would like to know where you got that frame and carriage too.

Wine Woman 03-21-2010 10:39 AM

Very nice quilting space! I noticed in picture three you had a flat ironing surface. Did you make it and will you give me some information on what you used for it? I'm using one that is too small and would like to make a bigger one.
